The purpose of this study was to explore the efficacy and relative factors of Kegel’s exercise in Keelung community women with urinary incontinence. The design of Quasi-experiment research, sample of incontinent women were collected in Keelung community,. There were 210 patients under age 60 years old. They received a training of Kegel’s exercise 2 hours each time, three times a week for 12 weeks. The constructive questionnaire were used to collect information before and after they volunteer the exercise. Data was analyzed by SPSS 12.0, the methods of statistics were descriptive statistics and t-test. The result appeared: (1) 60 patients in serious degree were improved and 36 patients were not improved and 12 patients were more worse than before (2) All patients’ symptoms after Kegel’s exercise were improved. (3) Through the test of vaginal manometry, Kegel’s exercise can enhance the strength of vaginal muscle. All factors were statically significant (P<0.05 to P<0.01).
The research suggest that women with high risk factors of urinary incontinence should start to learn Kegel’s exercise as sooner as possible, and incontinent women should receive teaching to promote health and prevent medical wasting.
