Abstract:	本文旨在回顧1958至2011年臺灣通識教育的發展，筆者援引朱建民之分法，將通識教育的發展分為：自發期、部定期與自主期。冀圖以此探究為基礎，可以窺見臺灣通識教育發展的樣貌，瞭解通識教育發展的過往與現在，記錄這一段通識教育發展的歷史。
