PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to explore how the moderate aerobic exercise affects the physical fitness variable of the middle-aged and the old .METHODS:There are 141 samples (people) in Keelung area for this study and the average age is 56.2 +1.2. They were trained with moderate aerobic exercise three times per week and one hour for each time. After moderate aerobic exercise, the most heart rate of samples should reach 50% to70%. During pre-training, the first year and the second year, the physical fitness was adopted to examine the samples with the body weight, body fat, BMD, muscle power, muscle tolerance, muscle strength and function of lung. RESULTS:The results of this study were as following: After two years moderate aerobic exercise, they have got improved significantly in physical fitness ( body weight, body fat, muscle strength, 800Km run and walk, sit and reach )( P<.05 ).CONCLUSION:After two years moderate aerobic exercise, physical fitness of the middle-aged and the old have improved significantly.
