In this research, we choose Asparagus shoots to get the extract as the cosmetic ingredient, to establish an effective evaluation on the safety and stability of the effective substances in the extracts of Asparagus, verifies the application of the effective ingredient of Asparagus as a moisture retention ingredient in cosmetics, and evaluates its commercial pragmatic use and functions. In the experiment procedure, we use four kinds of different extract method, including reflux extraction, microwave extraction, cold soaking extraction and ultrasonic extraction to get the extracts.
The results of the experiment reveal that the highest extraction yield of Asparagus is using ultrasonic extraction (3.68%), We choose the Asparagus extract added with Patchouli distillation water as the main component of moisture lotion. The result of skin moisturizing test show that the relatively moisture rate of the elbow is 40.09%and the face is 84.72%. Total plate count(TPC) of the Peppermint and Pomelo distillation water added into the lotion shows that 1.11 x 107cfu/mL and 2.17 x 106 cfu/mL respectively , while we don’t find any TPC on the Asparagus lotion added with Patchouli distillation water. There is no any allergic inflamed stimulation response using the Asparagus lotion. The results will be used the development of Asparagus lotion formulation reference in cosmetics.
