Environmental education is one of seven issues of Grade 1-9 integrated curriculum. Many teachers use nature trails for outdoor environmental education. In view of this, the research studies that the elementary school teachers in Keelung use Lion Nature Trail for outdoor environmental education. Based on the case study, this research interviewed six teachers whose schools are nearby Lion Nature Trail, and they have ever used Lion Nature Trail for outdoor environmental education. The purpose of the research takes advantage of their teaching methods to comprehend their difficulties and demands while using natural trails for outdoor environmental education. This research further discussed the teaching reflection and the result can be considered as the reference for teachers who will use natural trails for outdoor

The result of research shows that the promotion and assistance of relevant agencies encourage using local nature trails for outdoor environmental education. Given that the schools’rear mountains are nature trails, with its convenience and rich natural resources, the teachers select different routes depending on students’ physical strengths. Lion Nature Trail has precious cultural and historical sites and abundant flora and fauna, overlooking the cityscapes of Keelung Harbor. Its rich and diversified environmental resources can integrate with curriculum, including school environment, standard, elastic activity, local cultures, national defense, social studies, ocean, science and life courses. Therefore, using nature trails for developing outdoor environmental education is highly feasible and can
achieve effectively environmental education goals.

Relevant government units should emphasize and promote the courses of local nature trails for outdoor environment education, and establish local natural trail maps and database of flora and fauna. Schools can develop local cultural education and exploration activities of nature trails with community professionals. Teachers can find like-minded colleagues to work with outdoor environmental education. The suggestions for following researchers are to deeply explore nature trails in Keelung City and other counties. Peer cooperation develops school-based mountain trail environment courses, making in-depth study on contents of environomental education purposes and using action research to discuss outdoor environmental education
implementation of schools at all levels.
By discussion of the research, students can understand their hometown ecological environment and cultural and histroical backgrounds, appreciating nature changes, experiencing nature beauty, leading them to love mountain climbing, hiking and making an intellectual and emotional journey. During the process of getting close to nature, students cultivate healthier leisure activities and home-caring sentiments, transfroming into physical, mental, and spiritual
